(Matthew 1:21) “She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
Tonight is the night! Tonight is the night we gather together and we celebrate! We celebrate with singing, with children’s programs, with smiles, with presents, with family. Why? For “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.” We celebrate, worship, gather together, smile, sing songs, and open presents because Jesus has come!
Jesus gives us a reason to celebrate on Christmas no matter what is going on in our lives at the present time. Jesus causes us to be joyful and happy because He has come to save us from our sins! And that is exactly what that baby in the manger did for us! That baby grew up and lived the perfect life which we could not. That baby grew up and suffered the death we deserved. That baby grew up and paid the punishment we deserved for our sins.
And so tonight we celebrate! We celebrate because Jesus has come as promised. We celebrate for He has done what He has promised. We celebrate because He is the greatest gift we could ever be given as He has saved us from our sins and given to us eternal life in heaven! We celebrate for He is the reason we all can be joyful this Christmas!
Celebrating tonight and every night the birth of our Savior, just like you,
