Devotion:  (John 9:7) “Go, he told him, wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means Sent).  So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.”

This man had been born blind!  Can you imagine how hard that must have been?

And then one day he met Jesus.  Jesus made a paste of mud, put it into the man’s eyes, sent him to wash in the Pool of Siloam, and the man could see!  Can you imagine how exciting that must have been for him?  Can you imagine the joy, the appreciation this man would have for Jesus?

Well, God has done something even better for you and me.  You and I were born into this world spiritually blind.  We were God’s enemies because of our sins and were headed for eternal damnation.

And then one day God introduced Himself to you and me!  At our baptisms the Holy Spirit took away our spiritual blindness and gave to us spiritual sight.  Through the washing of the water and the Word Jesus introduced Himself to us as our Savior, as the one who has paid for all of our sins, as the one who has loved us with an eternal love, as the one who has given to us heaven!

What joy we all can have in our lives because Jesus has introduced Himself to you and me and He will never leave us!

Thankful for meeting Jesus, just like you,

 Pastor Schumann
