Today’s Byte was sent to me by Pastor Tom Kock who serves our brothers and sisters in Christ at Living Word Lutheran in Johnson City, TN.  I thought it was very well done!  Enjoy!

Devotion:  (Luke 15:10 NIV)  “In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

What is God’s desire?  What does God care about?  The verse above reminds us: God desires to save sinners!  God desires to save people like you and me!  And when God convinces me that my sins are forgiven, that Jesus is my Savior, that there is a home for me in heaven, the angels in heaven rejoice!

So what is God doing in your life today?  God is guiding and directing.  For what purpose?  For the purpose of getting you to heaven!

Now, maybe that will mean that today will be happy and joyous!  Maybe that will mean that today will be frustrating or challenging.  Regardless, God is doing exactly what you and I really need Him to be doing—He’s guiding us towards our eternal home!  The angels are already rejoicing; they will rejoice even more when you get there!

Thankful that God is guiding me to heaven, just like you,

Pastor Aaron Schumann
