(Psalm 65:5,6) “You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds, God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas, 6 who formed the mountains by your power, having armed yourself with strength.”

As I was driving from the Denver airport yesterday to Estes Park, Colorado I had the opportunity to travel scenic stretches of beautiful rocky mountain roads.  And when we arrived at our lodging for the week I walked out onto the back deck and gazed at the breathtaking view of the mountains.  It was an awe inspiring sight – the pine trees, the jagged peaks, the rock ledges, the snowcapped mountains – it was awesome!

But an even greater awe inspiring thought is found in Psalm 65:5,6.  While praising God, David proclaims “You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds, God our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth and of the farthest seas, who formed the mountains by your power, having armed yourself with strength.”

God is the one who formed each mountain.  Talk about power!  Talk about creativity!  Talk about artistry!

And . . . are you ready for this?  That same mountain making God is the One who made you!  David says in Psalm 139:13 “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.”

God is the one who formed you!  Talk about power!  Talk about creativity!  Talk about artistry!

You are a special, wonderful creation and child of God.  He made you just as you should be.  He died and rose to forgive all that you should not be.

You are a wonderful, amazing sight to Him because of Jesus!

Happy to be a child of the mountain making God, just like you,

Pastor Schumann
